Erik's Misc Stuff |
PhotosI'm running out of storage space on my website, so you'll have to put up with the banner ads and crap to see these photo albums. Sorry. I've also put this together rather quickly, so there are not a whole lot of descriptions for the photos and artwork. Pictures from Sweden - HalmstadDuring Easter break 2003 I spent a few days in Halmstad, Sweden, with classmates from my art program. Jennie is from Halmstad, so she invited me and Elin and Elnaz to stay with her at her parents' place. Halmstad lies on the southern coast of Sweden, across from Denmark. Pictures from Sweden - EskilstunaI visited Elin in Eskilstuna in June 2003 - just a short overnight visit, but had a lovely time. Eskilstuna is about an hour west of Stockholm. Pictures from Mallorca, SpainIn May 2003 I went to Mallorca with my art class from Sweden. We spent two weeks on the northeast corner of the island, at a little resort village called Cala Mesquida. We spent most of our time painting with water colors. Mallorca is mountainous and nice and warm in May, and I loved it. I rented a bike while we were there, so I was able to do day trips out to the countryside around Cala Mesquida, plus there was a nature preserve on the other side of the beach by the hotel, where we could go hiking. ArtworkSamples of my artworkA few watercolors, and acrylic and oil paintings that I have done in the last few years. I spent the academic school year 2002-03 attending a beginning art program at Sigtuna Folkhögskola in Sweden. In July 2004 I took a 4-day oil painting workshop at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, taught by Nana Bagdavadze. This past winter I completed two oil paintings, one of which is included here. |
